Number overview
03-6626-2546 is a phone number used in a phishing scam that impersonates Mizuho Bank by sending fake SMS messages claiming "fraudulent card use has been detected."
Reported tactics
- The sender impersonates Mizuho Bank and texts a notice of fraudulent card use
- Tapping the link in the SMS leads to a fake Mizuho Bank site
- The fake site prompts you to enter login information, account number, and PIN
- The same SMS is sent even to people who use cards from other issuers
Mizuho Bank does not notify customers of fraudulent card use by SMS or ask them to enter a PIN at a linked URL.
How to handle this
Don't open the SMS link
Never tap the link in the SMS. Delete the message as is.
If you tapped the link
If you didn't enter any information, simply closing the browser is fine. If you did enter information, contact Mizuho Bank immediately to suspend your card.
