060 is a newly added mobile phone number range. It was added to Japan's telecommunications numbering plan in December 2024 to prepare for the depletion of 070/080/090 numbers, but as of August 2026 it has not yet been offered to general subscribers (the five mobile carriers announced a postponement of the launch). Calls from 060 numbers should therefore not normally occur at this time.
